No Onion No Garlic Chowmein

About the Recipe

This is a special recipe for all those people who don't consume onion or garlic and they have to give up on their favourite foods. Guess what? Now, you don't have to!
You are craving for a plate of delicious Chowmein?
Then, this is your recipe!
Not having onion and garlic does not compromise the taste at all.
You can even try out this recipe during Navratri.

Ingredients

  • Water: 1-2 litres

  • Salt as per taste

  • Noodles: 150 gm

  • Oil

  • Ginger: 1 tbsp

  • Green Chillies: 3-4 pc

  • Chopped Coriander Stem

  • Capsicum: 1 pc

  • Carrot: 1 pc

  • Black Pepper

  • Light Soy Sauce: 1 tbsp

  • Vinegar: 1 tsp

  • Tomato Ketchup: 1 tsp

  • Vegetarian Oyster Sauce: 1 tsp

Preparation

Step 1

Take a wok, add water along with salt. Add the noodles once water comes to a roaring boil.


Note: Boil as directed by the manufacturer (or 5-7 mins). Strain them, run them through cold water (this halts carry over cooking) and then lightly coat them with oil.


Step 2

Now add oil, ginger, green chilli and coriander stem to a wok. Give them a quick toss.


Step 3

Add sliced capsicum and carrot along with salt and pepper. Cook them on high flame while tossing.


Step 4

Add the boiled noodles along with a sauce decoction containing tomato ketchup, vinegar, light soy sauce and vegetarian oyster sauce. Also add some red chilli powder (optional). Give them a quick toss and it’s ready!
