Pickled Radish

About the Recipe

In a few simple and easy steps, you can pickle radish at home and make this Pickled Radish.
It's a great condiment to go with your food.

Ingredients

  • Red Radish

  • Vinegar: 1 cup

  • Water: 1 cup

  • Sugar: 1 tsp

  • Coriander Seeds: 1 tsp

  • Star Anise: 1 pc

  • Nigella Seeds/Kalonji: ½ tsp

  • Black Pepper: ½ tsp

  • Salt: ¼ tsp

Preparation

Step 1

Wash and scrub red radish properly.


Step 2

Cut as thinly as you can or use a mandolin to slice it.


Step 3

Prepare a solution with: Vinegar- 1 Cup + Water- 1 Cup (equal proportion); Sugar- 1 tsp; Spices- 1 tsp coriander seeds, 1pc Star Anise, 1/2 tsp Nigella seeds (kalonji), 1/2 tsp Black Pepper and 1/4 tsp Salt.


Step 4

Bring everything to a roaring boil.


Step 5

In a jar, put your vegetable followed by your brine.


Step 6

Let it cool properly. Cover and refrigerate. Use it for 3-4 weeks easily.
