Gajar ka Halwa is a famous winter delicacy. This recipe walks you through the steps of making Gajar ka Halwa at home which turns out super delicious that you'll end up craving for more.

Ingredients

  • Carrots: 1½ kg

  • Ghee: 3 tbsp

  • Choti Elaichi/Green Cardamom: 2 pc

  • Milk: 1½ litres

  • Sugar: 1 cup

Preparation

Step 1

Take 1.5kg carrots, peel and grate them. You will be left with around 1kg grated carrot.


Step 2

Take a big kadai, add 3 tbsp ghee along with the grated carrot. While stirring, let it cook. Add 2pc choti elaichi.


Step 3

Add 1.5 litres of milk. Keep stirring and let it cook on medium flame for 20-25 mins or till the milk reduces.


Step 4

Add 1 cup sugar to it, mix and let it cook till you achieve the desired consistency.


Step 5

Khoya: I made khoya at home. For that, add 1 litre milk to a kadai. Keep stirring and let it reduce till you achieve the khoya consistency.


Step 6

Serve the halwa with khoya and chopped dry fruits. Enjoy!
