A perfect starter or evening snack option: Soya Aloo Tikki served with Pudina Chutney, Onions & Lemon.

Soya Aloo Tikki

Ingredients

  • Soya: 1 cup

  • Salt to taste

  • Soy Sauce: 1/2 tsp + 1/2 tsp

  • Chilli Flakes: 1/2 tsp

  • Chilli Powder: 1/4 tsp

  • Vinegar: 1/4 tsp

  • Coriander Powder: 1/2 tsp

  • Kashmiri Chilli Powder: 1/2 tsp

  • Cumin Powder: 1/2 tsp

  • Black Salt: 1/2 tsp

  • Boiled Potato: 2 medium

  • Ginger-Garlic-Chilli Paste: 1 tbsp

  • Juice of half a Lemon

  • Corn Flour: 1 tbsp

  • Oil (For frying)

Preparation

Step 1

Boil soya bean in hot water with some salt and soy sauce for 10 mins.


Step 2

Rinse it properly and squeeze out the water. Repeat this process twice to remove the off-smell.


Step 3

Blend the soya lightly with chilli flakes, red chilli powder, salt, soy sauce, vinegar, coriander powder, Kashmiri chilli powder, cumin powder and black salt.


Step 4

Transfer this to a bowl with some grated boiled potatoes. Add ginger-garlic-chilli paste, lemon juice and corn flour. Combine well.


Step 5

Form the tikki shape and deep fry/shallow fry/air fry them till beautiful golden brown. Serve with chutney of choice and enjoy!
