Calzone

About the Recipe

A calzone is a stuffed pizza pocket, filled with all the classic toppings – veggies, cheese and your choice of sauce wrapped in Pizza Dough. It turns out super delicious and tastes just like Pizza.

Ingredients

  • Warm Water: 0.5 cup

  • Sugar: 1 tsp

  • Yeast: 1 tsp

  • All-purpose Flour/Maida: 250 gm

  • Milk Powder: 2 tbsp

  • Salt

  • Veggies of choice

  • Sauce of choice

  • Cheese

  • Seasonings

  • Butter

Preparation

Step 1

Take a bowl, add 1/2 cup warm water, 1 tsp sugar, 1 tsp yeast, mix well, keep aside and let it bloom.


Step 2

Knead a dough using 250gm maida, 2 tbsp milk powder, salt and the yeast mix. Knead well. Cover and let it rest for 1 hour or till it doubles in size.


Step 3

Divide the dough in three equal parts, brush some oil and keep it aside for 30 mins for final proofing.


Step 4

Finally, roll out the dough like a pizza, apply sauce of choice along with veggies, seasoning and cheese on one side of the dough. Fold it into half. Use some water to properly seal it. Put some cuts in the middle as shown in the video.


Step 5

Bake in an preheated oven at 200C for 18-20 mins or until brown. Brush with some garlic butter, serve and enjoy!
